Last updated: 26 May 2026
Welcome to BookFound. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our app.
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BookFound, a web-based tool for generating book metadata including THEMA codes, BISAC codes, and keywords ("the Service"). The Service is operated by BookFound ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Australia.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
BookFound helps publishers, authors, and other book industry professionals generate category codes and keywords for book metadata purposes. The Service uses publicly available title data to generate THEMA codes, BISAC codes, SEO keywords, and Amazon KDP keywords.
We provide the Service free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or change the pricing model in the future, with reasonable notice to users.
3. Use of the Service
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable Australian or international law or regulation
• Use the Service to generate metadata for content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems
• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, or resell any part of the Service without our express written permission
4. Accuracy of Generated Metadata
BookFound is designed to assist with metadata generation, but we do not guarantee that any codes, keywords, or other outputs are accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific purposes. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all metadata before use.
THEMA and BISAC codes are maintained by third-party organisations (EDItEUR and BISG respectively). We are not affiliated with these organisations and cannot guarantee that our outputs reflect the most current versions of their code lists.
Amazon KDP keyword requirements are set by Amazon and may change at any time. We are not affiliated with Amazon.
5. Intellectual Property
The BookFound name, logo, and all associated content and software are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property.
Metadata outputs generated by BookFound using your input data belong to you. We do not claim ownership over the metadata you generate through the Service.
6. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable legislation, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or other applicable Australian consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by contract.
9. Third-Party Links and Resources
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources (including BISG, EDItEUR, and Amazon KDP). These are provided for your convenience only.
